PDFUnlock is an independent service operated by INTEK CENTER SASU. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by:

• Adobe Inc. — PDF is an open standard (ISO 32000). Adobe, Acrobat and the PDF logo are trademarks of Adobe Inc.
• PDF Association (formerly PDF/A Competence Center).
• Any other PDF software vendor, standards body or certification authority.

All trademarks mentioned on this website are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

PDFUnlock provides a password recovery service for users who have lost or forgotten the password to their own PDF documents. This service is legal under the following framework:

• Not DRM circumvention: PDF user passwords protect access to a document, not copyrighted content distribution. Password recovery for personal documents is not covered by anti-circumvention provisions (Directive 2001/29/EC, Article 6; DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 1201).
• User certification: By using the Service, the User certifies ownership of or authorized access to the uploaded file (see Terms of Service, Article 9).
• No content access: The Service extracts only the encryption hash from the PDF header. The actual content of the document is never read, processed, stored or transmitted.
• Owner password removal: Removing owner (permissions) passwords from PDF files does not constitute circumvention of copy protection, as the document content remains freely accessible — owner passwords only restrict editing, printing and copying capabilities.

The Company cooperates with law enforcement and will comply with valid court orders regarding the disclosure of information about Service usage.

The entirety of the content published on pdfunlock.app — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, user interface, software, algorithms and documentation — is the exclusive property of INTEK CENTER SASU or its licensors and is protected by French and international intellectual property laws (Code de la propriété intellectuelle, Berne Convention, WIPO treaties).

Any reproduction, representation, modification, distribution or exploitation of any element of the Service, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of the Company, is prohibited and constitutes infringement punishable under Articles L335-2 and following of the French Code de la propriété intellectuelle.
